EB doll quilt Swap 2 reveal!!

So after the long wait, here it is! The reveal of the EB doll quilt Swap number 2. First of all is the quilt that I sent to Ruth for her 2 little boys. It was fun coming up with the sailboat theme, and picking some nice and bright nautical fabric. I embroidered their names on, and a little saying that I think is appropriate too.. :).

And here is the cute little quilt Vienna recieved from the lovely Dani!! She immediately claimed it for her baby 'jesse' and didn't even let me have a look until later on (actually during her nap time, so officially she hasn't let me look at all.. haha). It has such beautiful colours, and the printed fabric is of children playing.. it's gorgeous! Sorry the pics aren't too clear, this was just before bedtime.

A dress for me!

So I finally made something for me! It's in a tulip fabric I just got from spotlight, with a polka dot navy white print for a bit of something different across the middle, with bias binding along the neckline/shoulder straps. It fits perfectly! I think I might be addicted. I love how you can adjust things to fit exactly where you need them.

It was from http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=6557 this pattern.

Now just to decide what fabric to use for my good dress for a wedding in November! Any ideas?

Reversible purse and more cloth baby shoes

A friend of mine is booked in for a c/s in 9 days time. She is having a little girl! So I thought I'd send her a little set of baby shoes and bib. How cute!

Another friend saw my reversible purse at a BBQ we had the other day and asked me to make one for her, so here it is! Amy Butler Belle fabric outer, a nice print from spotlight inner. Man those 'armholes' are tricky!
We are all a bit sick in my household at the moment. But it's nice to get little sewing projects done where you don't have to think so hard! And it gives me my 'fix' :)

Cloth baby shoes, Little chef apron and our local wildlife..

Hi! Well I've been a busy little bee today... It is Vienna's daycare day today, and I don't start back at work on Mondays for another month yet, so I'm making the most of it. I finished off the Sailboat quilt for my friends bub who luckily hadn't arrived yet! lol.

This is just a taste of the local wildlife we see in our yard..
galahs..

Blue tongue.. (this one freaked me out, I was sure it was a snake until i saw the legs! scary..)

Kookaburra.. so cute!

This chef apron I made for my niece Emma who will be 9 next month. She informs us she wants to be a chef when she grows up, so what better present! I have ordered her a kids cooking book as well, I hope she likes it!

And I finally finished these cloth baby shoes I had cut out AGES ago. The little boy who will be receiving them is about a month old now, but better late than never! I'm so pleased with how they turned out.. they really are very simple to make. I think I will make some for Aston and put a button on the front like in the Michael Miller tutorial.

So that's it for today/tonight. I am on a mission to complete all the projects that are on the go.. I think that will take a while, but at least I've started.

Sailboat quilt almost finished!

I tried Aston on my back for the first time in my new mei tai. I didn't quite get the tying right, however he looked like he was having a little giggle back there. But how do you stop a 3 month old from grabbing onto your hair??

Our very first vegie garden. Matt and Vienna have done such a fantastic job. It's really their garden, not 'ours' (as I have pretty much contributed nothing) but I love eating the produce! The lettuce and spinach have been fantastic.. and the snow peas are going to be eaten this weekend! Vienna has learnt the lesson that the cherry tomatoes have to be 'red' before she is allowed to pick them, lol.

This is my new Kelani Fabric! So beautiful, I can't wait to make something from it! I haven't opened my bag pattern yet, I'm a little intimidated..

This is a cot/play quilt I'm making for a good friend of mine who is expecting her 2nd little boy any day now. I was planning on having it finished by tonight, but it's just not happening, so she will just have to wait until his birth to receive it! It's my 2nd quilt, and I've learnt a lot from doing it! There are a few things I would change, but overall I really like it! I designed the boat pattern myself.

Okay, so that's about all from me tonight! Catch you on the flipside..

Finally my latest creative attempts!

My absolute favourite Mei Tai! I got a FQ of Amy Butler French Wallpaper in Duck Egg, and it matched so nicely with some turquoise bamboo velour I bought from Fairy Fabrics. So I quilted the two together with some cotton wadding in the middle to make an ultra lush and soft Mei Tai. The waist band I interfaced, and added cotton wadding and quilting as well to make it really strong but soft. It is so so so comfortable! I wish I could have a ride in it! Aston had his first sleep in it today while Vienna was at kindergym with me chasing around after her. Even with all that padding it still folds down quite compactly too.
And DH's BBQ Apron with Vienna's handprints appliqued on the pocket.

I'm working on my Doll Quilt for the EB doll quilt swap which I will blog tomorrow. I finished my first block today and it's looking okay thankfully! lol.

My first blog!

I'll keep this short and sweet as Aston is having a little whinge in the background :). I created this blog so I have a place to share what I've been doing and making in my time as a happily married mother of 2. Expect to see sewing, crochet, photos, kids, mess and more mess! Looking forward to creating this virtual memory.. Love Kristi
